We were delighted to host another special guest presentation last evening – a return visit from imaging specialist Guy Gowan, (Check out our previous post on Guy’s visit to the club on 20th September last). It was great to see such a large crowd which included members of other camera clubs as well.
This time Guy was concentrating on Black&White conversion. He has no time for third party conversion software such as Nik’s Silver Efex and the like. He likens them to processed food and points out that you won’t get consistency with them.
He demonstrated his own tried and trusted technique which indeed produced remarkable results. Several club members have subscribed to Guy’s website where all his methods and actions are available.
This was the last of Guy’s presentations while still a resident of Ireland – he will shortly be leaving these shores to live abroad but will be back to speak at various events in due course. We wish him the very best for the future.
