Congrats to club member Bill Power on his several successes in today’s (Sunday, Jan 22) Southern Association of Camera Club’s nature competition at the Cabragh Wetlands centre in Holycross. Bill took first in the Flora and Fungi print section and second in the Natural World projected section. He also came second in the Open Print Section and received two honourable mentions. A mighty achievement indeed. There were also major successes for our great friends in Mallow Camera Club, Blarney Camera Club, Blackwater Photographic Society, Fermoy Camera Club and East Cork Camera Group. It was a most enjoyable day with 75 members from clubs throughout the region in attendance. Bill’s images now go forward to compete in the national finals which will be held next month. There was also a very informative talk by Westport based wildlife photographer Kevin Murphy on the law as it applies to wildlife photography.
